GreenSlope™ is a roof leveling compound that helps eliminate water ponding areas on flat rooftops. Similar to that of a professional running track or playground surface, GreenSlope™ is made to withstand tough climates and heavy foot traffic.
First, remove all standing water from the area and make any needed repairs to the roof. Then, sweep / blow the area to remove all dirt (a small commercial power broom from Stihl can speed this step up) and ensure a good primer bond. For extremely dirty areas, it may help to pressure wash the area with an all-purpose cleaner. Once the area is completely dry and all dirt has been removed, prime the area using the enclosed pint of polyurethane-based adhesive.
Mix the low VOC polyurethane-based adhesive (included) with the recycled EPDM granules and EPS resins until the mix is even. Then, pour the contents out over the low area and spread the mixture using a trowel to bring the roof surface to it’s original slope. Tamp the material down with a trowel to close most of the open pores, especially around the perimeter to prevent water infiltration. Note: GreenSlope takes the place of 95% of the water, and is half the weight of the water, but will still take in some. The remaining water will air dry out. We recommend adding a topcoat to make it 100% waterproof.
Once the material is cured, apply a topcoat to match the color of the existing roof and fully waterproof the area. The curation period depends on outside temperature and product thickness, but in most cases GreenSlope can be installed and topcoated same day. Once the area is level and a topcoat is applied, installation is complete and positive water flow to desired drainage areas can be achieved.
The roof surface is below the scupper, causing water to pool instead of flowing freely off the roof via the downspout.
The GreenSlope roof leveling compound is applied to the roof surface to bring it back to it’s intended slope, facilitating proper flat roof water drainage.
